Dignity Through Financial Access
We believe financial exclusion is not just an economic problem — it is a dignity problem. When a 70-year-old farmer has to travel 25 kilometres to withdraw his pension, something is deeply wrong. Finsova exists to make that journey unnecessary. Every outlet we activate is a small act of equity.
2019
Where It All Began
From a Chai Stall Conversation to 50,000 Outlets
In early 2019, our founder Anil Kumar Sharma — then a product manager at a major payments company — visited his home village in eastern Uttar Pradesh. He watched his mother wait four days for a family member to help her withdraw her pension, because the nearest bank branch was 18 kilometres away.
That evening, over chai with a local shop owner, he realised: the infrastructure already existed. The shop had a smartphone, decent connectivity, and a trusted relationship with every family in the village. What was missing was the permission, the platform, and the training.
Six months later, Finsova Fintech Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated. The first Saathi outlet went live in Deoria, UP in October 2019 — processing 11 AEPS transactions on day one.

The Problem We Saw
190 million Indians live more than 5 kilometres from the nearest bank branch. 300 million have bank accounts they cannot easily access. These are not numbers — they are neighbours, parents, and farmers who deserve better.

Finsova Incorporated — First Outlet Goes Live
Finsova Fintech Pvt. Ltd. is incorporated in Delhi. The very first Saathi outlet activates in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, processing 11 AEPS transactions on day one. The founding team is 4 people working out of a co-working space in Noida. Total capital raised: seed round from angel investors.

COVID-19 Proves the Model — Rapid Growth
The pandemic locks down banks but creates unprecedented demand for local banking points. Finsova's network of Saathi outlets — deemed essential services — see 400% transaction volume growth. The team grows to 18 people. We expand to Bihar and Rajasthan. AEPS volumes explode as DBT payments flood into rural accounts.

Finsova raises a ₹28 crore Series A from a leading fintech-focused VC. We launch Domestic Money Transfer (DMT), utility bill payments (BBPS), and our first insurance products. The Saathi app is rebuilt from scratch with a new UX optimised for 2G networks. We expand to 7 states and cross 9,400 active outlets.

We launch the Distributor model allowing local entrepreneurs to build sub-networks. Enterprise CMS (Cash Management System) goes live for government departments. Outlets cross 22,000 across 14 states.

Former Product Manager at Paytm and ICICI Bank. IIT Bombay alumni. 12 years in payments and banking. Grew up in rural UP — the problem is personal for him.
Built distributed payment systems at PhonePe and Razorpay. IISc Computer Science. Expert in low-latency API design for high-throughput fintech systems.
CA with 18 years in fintech finance. Previously CFO of a listed NBFC. Led two successful fundraising rounds and the RBI BC licence process for Finsova.
Ran field operations for FINO Payments Bank across 3 states. 10 years training and managing BC networks. Personally onboarded the first 2,000 Finsova Saathis.
